Recently I realised, that my girlfriend had some Floppy Disk left over, which are relics of my childhood and youth. Hence there is no real use for this historic storage media anymore, I decided to recycle / upcycle those Floppy Disks. The result where these FloppyDisk Pen Holder.
How I designed the FloppyDisk Pen Holder
I used FreeCAD to design this thing.
I also used Blender to have a better look on the models, hence FreeCAD had no good 3D preview mode, where I can freely move and rotate the objects in the 3D space.
Initially I build a surrounding cover for the top of the holder, which is also included in the downloads. But I realised, that that would cover to much of the Floppy Disk. That would destroy their unique look. That’s why I build tiny edge connectors. I used liquid adhesive to stick the connectors and disks together. I also use liquid glue to fix the disks on the ground plate.
